On December 14th, the 7-day technical exchange visit to our university by a 5-member faculty delegation from Gulistan State University of Uzbekistan came to a successful conclusion. Zhong Weizhou, President of our university, Hu Junpeng, Vice President, and leaders of the International Office received the delegation.

At the forum, President Zhong Weizhou stated that the heads of state of China and Uzbekistan attach great importance to bilateral educational and cultural cooperation. Since the launch of educational cooperation between our university and Gulistan State University in 2021, five years of diligent efforts have yielded fruitful results, making positive contributions to deepening higher education exchanges and cooperation between China and Uzbekistan. This training is an important measure for the two universities to implement the 2024 backbone teacher professional and technical training project cooperation. He hoped that the Uzbek teacher team would actively communicate with the experts and professors of our university to successfully complete the exchange task.

During the 7-day visit, focusing on core fields such as modern agriculture, agricultural water conservancy, artificial intelligence robots, information engineering, and architectural engineering, our university tailored exchange and practical content for the Uzbek delegation. The Uzbek teachers participated with full enthusiasm throughout, conducting multiple rounds of discussions with experts and scholars from our university on professional technologies, teaching methods, and other contents, achieving fruitful exchange results. Meanwhile, members of the delegation walked into the School of Tourism Management and the School of Bioengineering, delivering a series of special lectures to students of our university, covering topics such as the physical and chemical properties of soil aeration zones, the geomorphological and soil characteristics of Uzbekistan, national culture, and daily language, thus building a bridge for cultural mutual learning between young students of the two countries.

At the summary meeting, the Uzbek delegation highlighted the follow-up construction progress of the Chinese Language Learning Center co-founded by the two sides last April. It is reported that since its opening, the center has been highly favored by local students, with the number of applicants for Chinese learning continuously increasing. Gulistan State University has officially planned to offer an undergraduate program in Chinese, and will invite teachers from our university to teach in Uzbekistan in the future to assist in the construction of its Chinese teaching staff. Alisher Musurmonov, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Soil Science and Land Improvement at Gulistan State University of Uzbekistan, spoke highly of the achievements of this exchange. He said, "The advanced professional and technical level, sophisticated teaching and research facilities, as well as the enterprising spirit of teachers and students of your university have left a deep impression on the delegation. The president of our university plans to lead a delegation to visit early next year to launch a new round of in-depth consultations on the cooperative education project between the two universities."

In his summary speech, Vice President Hu Junpeng pointed out, "We are sincerely pleased and looking forward to hearing that your university intends to carry out high-level cooperative education with ours, on behalf of all teachers and students of the university." Hu Junpeng emphasized that he hoped the two universities would take this opportunity to continuously expand cooperation areas, deepen cooperation connotations, and work together to write a new chapter in friendly educational exchanges between China and Uzbekistan.
