From August 7 to 16, President Zhang Zhaohui with other 2 college leaders visited Australia and New Zealand for educational cooperation by the invitation of Ray Griffiths, the CEO of Australian Kangan Batman Institute of TAFE and Duncan Sharp, the president of Cornell Institution of Business & Technology, New Zealand.
HURSVILLE Chinese councilman Nacy Liu hosted the delegation and introduced Australian education and the life of Chinese students. The delegation visited TAFE Sydney with its international office director Terri Connellan. Ms Connellan introduced the school’s majors and international cooperation projects, especially those in Shaanxi province. The delegation visited civil engineering and hospitality department and discussed teachers training issues. President Zhang talked with Chinese students of the school when visiting the international campus. After the visit, President Zhang Zhaohui and Director Terri Connellan signed an educational cooperation framework agreement, expressing their wishes to make further vocational cooperation, especially on teachers’ quality training.
In Melbourne, Australia, President and CEO Ray Griffiths, Vice President John Barnes and senior director John Steer of KANGAN INSTITUTE welcomed the delegation led by President Zhang Zhaohui on main campus. Mr Griffiths expressed his warm welcome to the delegation and his satisfaction on the teacher training cooperation. President Zhang hoped to discuss the degree program cooperation in automobile and hospitality major. The delegation visited teaching and training facilities and talked with students and teachers about theory and practice class arrangement. At the end of the visit, President Zhang and senior director John Steer signed an education cooperation framework agreement.
In New Zealand, the delegation visited Cornell Institution of Business & Technology. CEO Andrew Do, President Duncan Sharp and China market director David Xu hosted the delegation. Mr. Sharp introduced the institution, especially its top majors, teachers training program and graduates employment rate. He hoped to cooperate with our college on degree program and teachers training. President Wang listened to their introduction of New Zealand education system and visited the hospitality and IT major teaching facilities. Finally, the two colleges signed an education cooperation framework agreement.
In this 10-day visit, the delegation visited 3 educational institutes in 2 countries and signed 3 cooperation agreements. Our team members obtained a deep knowledge of Australia’s and New Zealand’s vocational education system and had a clearer idea of a future development focal point. Our college has built more friendly relationship with oversea educational institutes and has further spread our reputation globally.
