In Oct. 2010 a senior lecture manager, Ms Margret, from Britain gave a speech of “education---a seed of success” at the report hall in south campus. 80 teacher representatives and some of our college leaders attended the lecture.

　　Ms Margret used to work for the well-known American makeup company-- Estee Lauders marketing manager. She was in charge of global marketing management and advertisement business. In her speech, she introduced the education idea, current situation and culture in both Britain and China. Then she pointed out that the modern vocational teacher needs to experience different culture and obtain as much experiences as possible in related industry and companies. She put forward a British vocational education idea and method, i.e. cultivate students with strategic thinking, which means in teaching process students should be the center. They should be encouraged to acquire more knowledge by themselves in an effective time period. In this way they will have critical thinking and will make decisions independently. Teachers need to make individual plans for different students and inspect their learning process. At last, Ms Margret analyzed the common goal of government, society, industry and students. After the speech she answered  questions from teachers.
