On October 22, the delegation of Cambodia, including Vice Minister of Environment of Cambodia Eang Sophalleth, Vice Minister of Agriculture of Cambodia Chheng Kimsun, Vice Executive Secretary of Prime Minister's Office of Cambodia Prak Phannara, visited our college and discussed issues related to the MOU between our two sides. Secretary of the Party Committee of the College Chen Ning, President of the college Wang Zhousuo, Vice President Wang Xiaodi, Vice President Zhang Yongliang, as well as the heads of the International Office and the Bioengineering Department accompanied the delegation on the visit. The meeting was presided over by Xu Yanping, Chairman of Xi 'an Alpstream Group.
At the meeting, Chen Ning welcomed the Cambodian delegation to visit the college. She pointed out that China is a country with long history of agricultural and farming culture. The college has incorporated farming culture such as 24 solar terms into the teaching process, and has explored the traceability system of agricultural products and the big data system. Under the "the Belt And Road Initiative", the college has trained hundreds of agricultural professionals in many countries. It is hoped that based on the MOU the two sides would achieve mutual development via technical cooperation so as to train more agricultural technicians for Cambodia, promoting the sustainable and better development of local agriculture.
Wang Zhousuo briefed the Cambodian delegation on the history of our college, the general situation of three campuses, the construction of teaching staff, experimental and training bases, international exchanges and cooperation, student employment, vocational education groups, etc. He said that the college attaches great importance to international cooperation and exchange. In recent years, relying on Yangling Demonstration Zone, the College has established cooperative relations with more than 20 countries such as the United States, Britain, Germany and New Zealand, and has carried out a series of international exchanges program and teacher training. It is hoped that the two sides can strengthen communication, exchange needs and make mutual progress in agricultural technology.
Cambodian Vice Minister of Environment Eang Sophalleth thanked the college for its reception and briefly introduced the basic situation of Paragon International University. He pointed out that Cambodia, as an agricultural country, its agricultural technology is incapable of meeting living needs of the Cambodian people. Yangling Vocational and Technical College has rich experience in agricultural education and training. He hoped the two sides could reach a consensus to build an agricultural school in Cambodia to bring China's advanced agricultural technology to Cambodia and promote Cambodia's agricultural development.
Before the meeting, the Cambodian delegation visited the laboratory of the Bioengineering Department.
